Will this 40gb ps3 bundle come with a dual shock 3? (link inside)?

Firstly, will this come with a controller at all, if so will it be the Dual Shock 3?
I just noticed that under the price it says product discontinued, what does that mean?
Lastly am I wasting money here? Will there be a price drop before christmas 2008?
Secondly, is this the right choice? I will probably only use it for gaming mostly that’s why I saved a few pounds instead of the 80gb ps3.
Also can you charge a Dual shock 3 on the ps3. i.e does a cable come with the deal so you can connect the ps3 and the dual shock 3 so it charges?

Your link isn’t working so I’ll go with what I know.
You were linking to a UK site so that lets me know that you are looking at the 40GB PAL version of the PS3. This means there is no backwards compatibility with PS2 games.
The new 80GB PAL (actually all the new 80GB machines) will not have this either so no ‘loss’ there.
40GB is fine for starters. You might find though that after 6 or so games you’ll have eaten up 20GB in install space + if you wish to download demos they are about 1GB a shot…so things can get ‘tight’ fast…The good news is that it doesn’t void your warranty and SONY makes it easy to upgrade you HDD at a later point using common laptop HDD (ie…you won’t get soaked by SONY to by a ‘special’ drive) … many PS3 owners are have 160GB or 320GB HDD drives installed (like I do) as we use it for DIVX movies.
The cable that comes with the PS3 is too short in my opinion…it is only about 5ft (1.5 metres) long…It is however, just a standard mini usb to usb so you can source a longer one cheap if you need to.
As for the controller being DS3 or not…They have only been in the UK since July 2008..so I don’t believe they were ever a pack in. The new 80GB model does come with it though. Personally I really don’t miss it when I’m playing though I have one of each.
