Clearing the XBOX 360 cache and then re-downloading?

Okay, basically i started playing Test Drive: Unlimited again, and noticed its going quite slow. I’ve been searching the net, and i cant find any disadvantages to clearing the cache, so i thought i might give it a try. So, can anyone with full knowledge of what it does, tell me exactly? (just curious) And i know that it gets rid of updates, and, assuming the game would run smoother after clearing the cache…. if i then re-downloaded the updates, would it go back to being slow?

yes. clear the cahe and download the updates. after that install the game to your hard drive and it should run much faster than previously since installed is faster than running off the disc.
