Can I take my old xbox 360 hard drive and put into an arcade”?

My xbox 360 got the red ring of death and i tried to manually open the 360 and fix it myself. It turned out to be a complete failure but i still have the hard drive from the first 360. Now i am searching for a new xbox, and am wondering if i can just buy the arcade and put my hard drive in it?
