7.1 Home Theater system set up questions?

I connect optical cable for sound PS3 to Home theater system (Samsung HT-AS730ST)
and HDMI cable for Picture PS3 to TV

I have 3 questions.

Optical cable doesn’t support 7.1 channel that only works via HDMI connected to a receiver with DTS-HD MA and Dolby True HD decoder on board. You have to set Bitsreams on PS3 audio settings and select all sound as much as possible.
