downloading xbox 360 games to hard drive? Does that mean free games?

Couldn’t I just rent or borrow a friends game and download it to my hard drive and then I would essentially be able to have a game for free??? or is that not how it works?
ahhh ok lol I knew there was no way such a thing was possible, but the benefits of this seem pretty small unless you play really massive games.

No because you still have to have the disk in the drive to prove you own it. It’s to prevent people from doing exactly what you said. The disk doesn’t spin, but the 360 reads it to verify you have a copy.
