Xbox 360 RROD issue *Prepared to send PSP + cash*?

Hello, I was playing GTA IV and saw some gray lines. I turned my Xbox 360 off and then back on, only to see a flashing red light in the bottom corner. I tried fixing, and Microsoft said I have to wait 2-3 weeks plus 5 days for the box to arrive and that’s a long time. When the HDMI or AV or Component cables are connected, there’s the RROD. When no cable is connected except for the power, there’s no RROD but I can’t connect my controller.
I’m not sure exactly what the problem is but if anyone tells me how to fix it without having to open my Xbox 360, I’m prepared to send my brand new PSP that I bought 4 days ago for easter and cash (over 50$ depending on the response but over 50$ for sure).

By the way, I don’t use AV cables, I use an HDMI cable. I tried using my AV cables instead but it still didn’t work.

One red light means E74 error. It means that your video equipment is faulty. It could mean just buying new cables, but since you tried a few different alternatives, it is most likely the xbox itself.

The reason you don’t get the light when the video equipment is not connected is because the xbox is programmed to not start up until the signal is being fed into a source.

I had this same problem. I had to send it in to xbox. If it makes you feel any better, it doesn’t usually take as long as customer service tells you that it takes. Just send it in and it will be back before you know it.
