How can I go online on PS3 using wireless router and a ethernet cable (please help)?

Basically how do I go online using a wireless router and a ethernet cable….can you please explain and tell where exactly the ethernet cable has to go….how will my modem connect to the wireless router…my modem is a USB modem…how will it connect to the wireless router…thanks
