How can I update my xbox 360 without live and without getting mixed media disc message?

Hello,
I want to get the fall 07 system update for my xbox 360. I went to xbox.com and downloaded the update to my laptop but everytime i burn the update to a cd and put it in my 360….the system tells me that i have a mixed media disc in the tray. I have tried restarting the system….reburning the disc, i have tried burning the zip file, the unzipped file, and everything.

It sounds like the problem is with your burning software. Double check your settings on your burning program. Make sure you have it set to burn a data disc. If it still doesn’t work you may want to try out a different burning software.
