Call of duty ps3 surround sound problems?

i just got new 5.1 surround sound and my ps3 menu plays it fine (i set up the surround in sound settings too) and when i got to play call of duty 4 it stops and there is NO sound. any help?

go to your sound options on the PS menu. theres one that has linear sound or something like that. switch it and you should be fine. one other thing to get a really cool sound on that game is… turn your rear speaker volume up and turn your front and center down just slightly under that and then crank up the sub and crank up the volume it sounds really cool with call of duty!
