What is the difference between a 60GB PS3 (which has been discontinued) and a 80 GB PS3?

I'm thinking about buying a PS3 for my children for Christmas and we have a 60 GB PS3 for sale on craigslist for $ 450, which includes two wireless controllers, Madden 08, and a Bluetooth headset. From Sony to suspend these units, there is no reason why I do not want to buy the 60GB drive? I suppose they are compatible with PS2 games and everything else is equal, except the size of hard disk. Is this a good deal? " Only WatchOUT?

Both 60 GB and 80 GB is compatible with previous versions, but 60 GB is compatible with most of PS2 games because it has the Emotion Engine chip from the PS2. The 80GB uses software and is compatible with about 85% of PS2 games. Apart from this and the hard drive size are the same as that sounds like a good deal.
