For the PS3 Controller is the Controller Charger the only way to charge it?

I am confused into how the Controller charges? Can It take batteries aswell, by the way I am talking about the Siaxis Duelshock 3 controller!

nah no batteries. charge on any 2.0 USB port(thats the USB with power USB1.0 no power),even pc!!! or get a charge dock. that’s it 3 ways only. but seriously if it’s fully charged you get 8-10 hrs non stop playing time!!!!!!!! a good day or night!!!
