why did my ps3 fan suddently start to sound loud?

is it because of the summer heat? i was playing call of duty for around 30 minutes then the fan was blowing very hard. it sounded like a jet engine. im pretty scared. i immediately turned it off and i haven’t turned it on yet. this happened like 10 minutes ago. so what can be the problem. its on a well ventilated area.

Sometimes my fan gets really loud too. I don’t know why this happens, but when the fan is loud it is usually really hot in my room. I used to keep my ps3 on for 20 hours straight a few times a month ( due to an addicting game or not shutting it off) and it still works flawlessly. The loud fan noise is probably no cause for concern, giving it a rest couldn’t hurt though.
