Why do games look “better” on the 360 than the PS3?

It seems like just about every time I look at a game review it says that the Xbox 360 version does better graphically than the PS3 version. Why is this? I thought that the PS3 was supposed to have better hardware than the 360. All the games are blu-ray discs as well. So how is it that the 360 seems to be consistently winning in graphics? Am I wrong?

The reason some cross-platform games look better on the 360 is because developers have an easier time developing the game on the 360, they then port the game to the PS3. And some of these are barely detectable anyway. There are some exceptions of course with some games (Dragon Origins).

But PS3 exclusives look better then 360 exclusives due to developers taking complete advantage of the PS3 hardware. Nothing on the 360 holds a candle to PS3′s Uncharted 2. It’s been said the 360 can’t even handle that game. God of War 3 will be the same way.

So yes, you’re somewhat wrong.
